Since Boohoo informed me about #GlobalStyler, I’ve been looking forward to writing this post! For those of you who haven’t heard of #GlobalStyler, it is a campaign by Boohoo, which encourages fashion lovers from all over the world to photograph themselves in their favourite Boohoo clothing.

It’s fantastic looking through the feed and seeing how everyone styles items, each in their own individual way. As well as bringing people together with similar interests, the campaign also offers a prize of a trip to the fashion destination of the winners choice – check out the details by clicking here.

People have taken part from all over the world and my entry is from Lincolnshire. I took my photographs at Hubbards Hills, a public park about 20 minutes from my house. I’m wearing my favourite Sophie Peter Pan Collar Boohoo dress.

I love the Peter Pan collar on this dress and think they add a touch of elegance to most outfits. The skater style skirt also feels flattering, flowing over curves, rather than clinging! These features along with the pattern and two tone contrast, create a really girly look. I styled the outfit with tights because it was a cold day; however, when the weather warms up, I think this would look fab with little, frilly ankle socks.

If you like this dress too, it is currently in the sale at only £12, bargain! Take a look here.

What do you think of this look? Do you have a favourite Boohoo item?

Thanks for reading, I’ll look forward to checking out your entry!

Time for a touch of spring

So, it may still be trying to snow out there but I for one am bored of this cold weather, and how it is controlling what I wear! Therefore, this week I dug out my pink River Island blazer and added a splash of spring to my outfit.

To be honest, it’s an item that I’d hid away for warmer temperatures, when I could dress it once again with pretty florals. It was only after going shopping and seeing all of the spring/summer collections, that I was inspired to wear it now.

Of course, when it’s cold enough to snow outside we still need to be practical; therefore, I dressed it with some dark skinny jeans, a cream lace top, brown wedges and a brown clutch. I didn’t realise when putting this outfit together but most of the items are from River Island, except for the clutch which is New Look. I feel the brown tones work because they keep the outfit perfectly between season, and the lace has a similar delicate feel to the blazer.

I kept accessories simple with a Primark necklace that I’ve had forever, a floral bow in the hair, my lovely Prairie Charms bracelet, which I’ve had so much wear out of and a simple ring.

It’s amazing how wearing bright colours again can be so uplifting, this is definitely an item that is keeping a prominent position in my wardrobe. I love how timeless blazers are, and there are some great patterned and bright ones on the high street – I may have to add some more coloured ones to my collection 😉

Dress to impress

Hope you all had a lovely weekend.

Mine was good, as Saturday evening was the boyfriends work dinner and dance.

It’s quite a formal occasion, so I was stuck on what to wear! Last year I hired a dress from Girl Meets Dress which you can see by clicking here.

I decided to do this again and I wasn’t disappointed; the company offer designer dresses at a fraction of the price, to wear for your special event.

There are different delivery options, such as two or seven day rentals and a previous try on service is also available. As I’m not that organised, I didn’t have time to try on prior to the event; however, what I do think is fantastic is that Girl Meets Dress allow you to order three dresses, and only pay for one that you wear.

I thought this was a fab idea! It eliminated any stress about the chosen dress either not fitting or not being nice once it had arrived, as there were two others as a safety net. I love this concept because for big events I’ll buy a dress and only wear it once, simply because the next time I’ll want a new look.

I didn’t actually wear the dress that I was originally planning, when making my order. This was because after trying on the other it seemed to suit me better, and be more fitting to the occasion. I went for the Opulence England_Embellished Mullet, as you can see above.

I finished the look off with a cream clutch, which I already had, from Accessorize and mid black heels from NewLook. I opted for mid heels, rather than my usual sky scrapers to try and create a classic style.

What do you think of the look?

The service at GMD is good and simple to use; you order online and then sent with the dresses, is everything that you need to return them easily. I’d definitely recommend hiring a dress from GMD for your next special occasion – I know I will be 😉

Outfits and Anniversaries

Hello you lovely people,

I hope everyone is keeping warm and staying safe in the snow. I do love this weather but getting anywhere is just a nightmare!

Anyway, I’m not going to bore you all with a post about the weather!

Last week was mine and the boyfriends third anniversary; to celebrate we used a voucher that we received for Christmas, it enabled us to stay over for the night at Damons with breakfast included. Meaning that all we had to pay for was our evening meal and drinks. I’d definitely buy this as a gift for someone, because we loved it!

Of course though, for us girls there is always the hassle of what to wear!? If you haven’t been to Damons before it does great food and is a lovely place to visit; however, it is an American diner style restaurant so it has a fairly relaxed atmosphere – which I like.

I eventually decided on some beige River Island skinny jeans and a cream lace River Island top. I recently purchased a bracelet from Prairie Charms, which is brown with a delicate love heart on it. Perfect for completing my outfit and for celebrating our anniversary.

The bracelet also went brilliantly well with what I’d packed to wear the next day – completely coincidental but I was happy!

I purchased another lovely bracelet from Prairie Charms, which I can’t wait to wear! 😉

The Trusted Peter Pan Collar

I’m extremely happy that the Peter Pan collar is still big this season!

There is just something delicate and feminine about them, which creates a classic look. This dress is from New Look and was a birthday gift back in September. I seem to be wearing a lot of black at the moment, I think it’s the time of year, but I love how the collar brightens up the whole look.

I felt a ballerina type bun would suit this style perfectly; unfortunately, I’m not great with a hair doughnut, so I had my little sister help out (who is only 11) and I think she did a great job!

I wore this outfit for an evening out with friends, which consisted of bowling and a few drinks. When I wasn’t wearing the sexy bowling shoes, I teamed the dress with some simple black wedges.

Bargain Winter Wardrobe

The time for warm jumpers and cosy hats is definitely here!

I haven’t bought anything from Primark in a long while; however, as I don’t have the money for an expensive new wardrobe, I went on the hunt for some bargains! And I’m pleased that I did!

I bought this cosy jumper for £12 and these black skinny’s at £11; not only are these items both reasonably priced, but they also have soft fabric and feel of a good quality.

I added a bobble hat which is also a Primark bargain at only £2.

My whole outfit cost £25, which I was really impressed with! I completed my winter wardrobe look with my boots, which were a birthday gift.

What do you think of this look, have you found any seasonal bargains?

My Christmas wish list – the all-in-one company

This time of year is perfect for curling up on the sofa in a cosy onesie!

After already owning a fair few fleecy one pieces, I was delighted when I came across the ‘all-in-one company’ online!

They allow buyers to build their own onesie from scratch; everything can be chosen including the size, zip, zip tab, whether it will include a drop seat, the cuffs, which are available in thumb hole style, the material and colour.

As well as the above, further item’s can also be selected, which ensure its unique identity! These extras allow the onesie lover to choose whether their special purchase will have a hood, tail, ears, mittens, feet, non-slip soles and even a clever i-Poc-it (yep, you guessed it, a special pocket for your iPhone or iPod!) And if all of that isn’t enough, I was particularly impressed that they can be individualised further by including personalised logos; for example, initials, football badges or favourite quotes.

I can barely contain my excitement at finding this website, and I’m not sure whether this is as such an informative blog post or more of a plea for my very own, custom made one suit! 😉

They would make the perfect Christmas present for anyone; the company cater for kids, women and men. While we’re on the subject of Christmas, you will need to be quick as orders need to be in by 15th November to ensure delivery. The all-in-one company also offer gift vouchers, giving your loved one the freedom to select their own onesie.

The sleep suits are all made within the UK and can be delivered globally.

Time to shine – Christmas countdown

Ok, so it’s still a little early for a Christmas post, however, my little girl has asked me to watch the Polar Express and Miracle on 34th Street over the last few days; this, along with writing her letter to Santa and booking our tickets to the Christmas Land at Tamworth Snowdome, has made me truly excited for the festive period!

And let’s face it, with bonfire night over it will be here before we know it!

There is one thing we can never have too prepared, and that of course, is our wardrobe! I love this time of year, nothing can be too overdressed or sparkling, from the classic LBD to a sophisticated playsuit – there is something for everyone this party season!

Here are a few of my favourites:

River Island £115

I know this dress is pricey, but wow, how perfect is it? I love the embellished shoulders, they give a touch of 80s whilst still maintaining class. Money can be saved on accessories with this dress, as there is already plenty of detail included.

River Island £30

These shorts are fab for adding some sparkle in a less obvious way. They can also be mixed and matched with various items, making them perfect for not being tagged in the same outfit twice 😉

Boohoo £25

You can always rely on Boohoo for a bargain; this dress has sequins, chiffon and an empire waist skirt – what more could you need in a Christmas outfit?

TFNC available at Asos £59

If you are fed up of the traditional black party dress, why not go white winter wonderland in this art deco inspired piece? This style ensures elegance!

If there isn’t anything that takes your fancy, you could try hiring a dress; I did this last year for my boyfriends works event – find out more by clicking here.

Let the countdown commence 🙂

The Perfect Wedding

Apologies for my blog being a little quiet lately; I’ve been a bit of a busy bee, however, usual attention will be resumed!

I don’t usually mix my blog with the day job, but I was so pleased with The Perfect Wedding magazine, I just couldn’t help sharing it with you guys! Every young girl dreams of their fairytale wedding day, and can’t secretly resist planning it in their head… so whether you are engaged looking for inspiration or just love all things wedding (like me) take a peek by clicking here.

Belated birthday post

Mid September was my birthday and a pretty hectic time with drink celebrations, a lovely spa day and a tea party (for the kids honest).

My lovely Thorntons birthday cake.

Nail file and polish from Kenwick Park.

The last couple of weeks have flown by, I can’t believe winter is almost here!

Yesterday I wore this scarf which was a gift from my auntie, and I think it’s so pretty it made me happy about having to layer up for the cold weather.

I love the colours of dusty pink and black, and the combination of silk, cotton and jewels. The two types of pattern also look good together; the amount of contrast probably shouldn’t work, but somehow it does.

This will definitely be a statement piece in the winter wardrobe!
